In Memory Of the Italian Immigrants
Who Came To The United States of America.

Our Italian Immigrant parents and grandparents deserve a place where their sacrifices and contributions can be told. Because of them we have the heritage and opportunities that we enjoy today.
Our Association was founded in 1979, and we have become an international organization with over 1,575 members in 47 states, Canada, Italy, China, and the French West Indies. Our goals are to record and preserve our Italian heritage and culture.
I am a native of Albany, New York and I left in 1963 to teach at SUNY Morrisville, NY. I am now retired and have bought a home in Albany. I have been very active in the Italian American community for 20 years and I have been knighted by the Italian government. I come from a large and old Albany family. My wife is from Schenectady, NY and my mother was from Troy. Also, I have been a director of our Italian American Museum in Utica, NY for 13 years. We must keep alive our Italian heritage and the memory of the Italian immigrants. We must do it now for the following reasons:

            1) The last living Italian immigrants are now in the twilight of their lives, and only their personal accounts and memorabilia can tell the story...a story that must be recorded before it is too late.

            2) We are racing against the clock to gather as many artifacts and testimonies as possible. We want to interpret the Italian immigrant experience for ourselves and for generations to come.

            3) Most Italian Americans are already assimilated. We must make this appeal while there is still interest and support.

            Sincerely yours,
            Prof./Cav. Philip J. DiNovo
            (518)-435-1979

            July 2009 - Important - Please Note:
            Membership Dues Info. for 2010

At our June 2009 Board Meeting it was decided that it was necessary to raise our dues for 2010. Postage increases, gas prices, advertising revenue is down and other costs are increasing. No other Italian-American organization in the Capital District has dues as low as ours and we give so much. It costs as much to print and mail our newsletter to an individual as it does to a family.

If the first three numbers of your ZIP code are 120, 121, 122, 123, or 128, your dues for the year will be $25. If you lived outside those ZIP codes, your dues will be $22.

Those who live in the Capital District receive the greatest benefits and we asked them to pay a little more. All the work is done by volunteers and only about $2 of the new dues will be over our cost and that $2 will be donated to our Museum & Cultural Center. We hope you will support our goals by renewing.
