Membership Dues Info. for 2010 At our June 2009 Board Meeting it was decided that it was necessary to raise our dues for 2010. Postage increases, gas prices, advertising revenue is down and other costs are increasing. No other Italian-American organization in the Capital District has dues as low as ours and we give so much. It costs as much to print and mail our newsletter to an individual as it does to a family. If the first three numbers of your ZIP code are 120, 121, 122, 123, or 128, your dues for the year will be $25. If you lived outside those ZIP codes, your dues will be $22. Those who live in the Capital district receive the greatest benefits and we asked them to pay a little more. All the work is done by volunteers and only about $2 of the new dues will be over our cost and that $2 will be donated to our Museum & Cultural Center. We hope you will support our goals by renewing. |

Are you interested in preserving Our Italian heritage and culture? If your answer is YES , we invite you to join the American-Italian Heritage Association Inc. . The AIHA was established in 1979 by Professor/Cavalliere Philip J. DiNovo in Morrisville, New York. We are a non-profit organization with over 1,575 members in 47 states and in Italy. The AIHA operated the Italian Cultural Center & Museum located at 668 Catherine Street, Utica, New York (Utica's "Little Italy" - east side of the city) for the past nineteen years. It was closed late in 1998 so that plans for the new national museum in Albany, NY could begin.
| Currently, there are plans underway for the building of a National Italian-American Museum & Cultural Center in Albany, New York. Professor DiNovo is overseeing this project which is scheduled to be open within the next few years. Our Center and Museum stands in memory of the Italian immigrants who came to the United States. We are grateful to them for their many sacrifices and their contributions to this country. The Center and Museum housed the following exhibits: The Immigrant Room contained a photo exhibit, immigrant memorabila and artifacts. The Art Gallery where Italian-American artists exhibit paintings, sculptures, photos, prints etc. The Italian Folk Art Room featured a collection of photos featuring the Hilltowns of Italy, artifacts from Italy, an authentic Italian regional doll Collection, and memorabilia. The Center & Museum also included a Library, Archives and a Video Library comprised of books and videos dealing with the history and culture of Italy, a few genealogy resources, (*)and papers all focusing on Italian history, culture etc. Two unique Italian-American gift shops sold books and maps as well as mugs, t-shirts, and meeting rooms are available. (*) Italian Family Research by Summit Publications is available in the Center's Gift Shop. If requesting information regarding this publication, please include a SASE. ** It is important to note that the Center does Not provide the service of sending out genealogical material.) ** Please check via e-mail to see if these publications are still available. There is a Spring & Fall Conference held each year which includes a dinner, speaker and entertainment such as Italian Folk music or dancers. AIHA Events Calendar
